2-by-2 Multi-Port Female SFP Cage Assembly
The SFP (Small Form-factor Pluggable) module connector supports various data speeds and is a primary optical transceiver for data communication. Introduced in early 2000 to replace GBIC connectors, SFP connectors offer greater port density while handling up to 4.25Gb/s according to IEEE 802.3 and SFF-8472 specifications.
The enhanced SFP+ version, introduced in 2006, supports data rates up to 10Gb/s (IEEE802.3ae, SFF-8431/8432) while maintaining the same form factor. Both SFP and SFP+ support Gigabit Ethernet, Fibre Channel, SONET, OTN, and other communication standards in both copper and optical variants.
